The Oyo State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Hon. Femi Julius Okedoyin, a former lawmaker representing Saki West State Constituency, as the new Chairman of the House Service Commission.
This confirmation came following the reconstitution of the commission’s board by Governor Seyi Makinde. In a letter dated July 23, 2024, and read on the floor of the House, Governor Makinde submitted the nomination of Hon. Okedoyin for the chairmanship.

Alongside Okedoyin, the Governor nominated other commissioners for the board: Hon. Moses Olawuyi Ojoawo representing Oyo South Senatorial District as Commissioner 1, Hon. Olanrewaju Oladimeji representing Oyo North Senatorial District as Commissioner 2, Hon. Adekunle Iyanda Alabanla representing Oyo South Senatorial District as Commissioner 3, and Hon. Samson Bamidele Ojo representing Oyo Senatorial District as Commissioner 4.
The House unanimously endorsed all the nominations during a plenary session on Tuesday. Lawmakers commended Governor Makinde for selecting Hon. Okedoyin and the other commissioners, highlighting Okedoyin’s extensive experience in the legislature as a significant asset for the position.
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, urged the new appointees to work diligently to ensure the Commission fulfills its mandate and supports the legislative arm of the government in achieving its objectives.
