Popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Center after serving more than four months of a six-month sentence. Bobrisky was seen leaving the facility on Monday morning, accompanied by friends in a luxury vehicle.
The social media personality’s incarceration began on April 12, following a ruling by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos High Court. The court found Bobrisky guilty of abusing the naira, Nigeria’s currency, and sentenced him to six months in prison without the option of a fine. The sentence officially commenced on March 24, the date of his arrest.

Bobrisky’s release has been met with mixed reactions on social media, where he has a substantial following. The controversial figure, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and bold fashion choices, was spotted leaving the prison amidst a flurry of excitement and speculation about his future plans.
