President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, on his retirement as Chief Justice of Nigeria, following a distinguished career in public service.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu praised Justice Ariwoola for his dedicated service to the nation. The statement highlighted Justice Ariwoola’s career, which included serving as a Justice of the Court of Appeal in the Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos divisions before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2011. He was sworn in as Chief Justice of Nigeria in 2022 and contributed significantly to Nigerian jurisprudence and the judiciary.

President Tinubu commended the retired Chief Justice for his impactful leadership, noting his efforts in strengthening the legal system and enriching the body of law in the country. The President also conveyed his best wishes for Justice Ariwoola’s future endeavors.
According to the statement, President Tinubu will swear in Justice Ariwoola’s successor at the State House Council Chambers on August 23, 2024.
