
The Executive Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Olaleye Akinola, has called on Muslims across the country to emulate the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad as they celebrate Eid Moulid. He emphasized that the Prophet’s life, marked by compassion, humility, and dedication to humanity, offers a guiding example for all Muslims to follow.
In his felicitation message to Muslims nationwide, Hon. Akinola extended special greetings to the Muslim faithful in Oyo State, particularly in Saki. He acknowledged the leadership of the Chief Imam of Sakiland, Alhaji Sheikh Azeez Jeje Kunmi Arebomasojo, and the traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, the Okere of Sakiland, Oba Dr. Surv. Khalid Olabisi Oyedepo III, Ilugbemidepo.
Hon. Akinola urged Muslims to use this period of Eid Moulid to pray fervently for Nigeria, especially in light of the current economic challenges. He also encouraged prayers for the success of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, whose administration is committed to the development and prosperity of the state.
“This occasion should serve as a reminder for us to reflect on the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, who stood for peace, justice, and unity,” Akinola said. “Let us continue to uphold these values and extend love and support to one another in our communities.”
The chairman also called on the Muslim community to remain steadfast in their faith and trust in God, assuring them that collective prayers and unity will bring about the desired progress and relief for the country. He expressed his hope that the lessons from Prophet Muhammad’s life would inspire Muslims to contribute positively to the peace and development of the nation.
In conclusion, Hon. Akinola congratulated all Muslims on the celebration of Eid Moulid, praying that their acts of worship during this holy period would be accepted by Allah and bring blessings to their lives and the nation as a whole.
