Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is set to commission the newly completed ultra-modern Local Government Service Commission complex on October 2, 2024. The event, which will take place at the state secretariat in Ibadan, is slated to be a key part of the state’s Independence Day celebrations.

Governor Makinde made the announcement during an inspection visit to the project site, expressing satisfaction with the quality and progress of the construction. He emphasized that the commissioning of the state-of-the-art complex aligns with his administration’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and improving the efficiency of government services across the state.
The governor noted that the new facility will not only serve as a modern hub for the Local Government Service Commission but will also symbolize the state’s drive toward improved public administration. “This complex is a reflection of our vision to ensure that government institutions are equipped with the necessary infrastructure to better serve the people of Oyo State,” Makinde said during his visit.

Governor Makinde also mentioned that the timing of the commissioning, coming a day after Nigeria’s Independence Day, adds a special significance to the occasion, marking both a celebration of the country’s progress and Oyo State’s strides toward modernization. The new complex is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the Local Government Service Commission, making it better equipped to meet the needs of local government officials and the citizens they serve.
