In a move to express gratitude to Nigerians, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) for marketers. The price has been adjusted from N990 per litre to N970 per litre, a decision announced by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, in a statement on Sunday.
Chiejina highlighted that the price reduction is a gesture of appreciation for Nigerians’ unwavering support in bringing the Dangote Refinery to fruition. He further acknowledged the role of the Nigerian government, noting that the reduction aligns with efforts to support domestic enterprises for the collective well-being of the nation.
This price adjustment marks the first reduction in fuel prices since the deregulation of the petroleum sector. While the refinery remains committed to maintaining the highest quality standards for its petroleum products, Chiejina assured that the products would continue to be environmentally friendly and sustainable.
He also emphasized the refinery’s determination to increase production levels, ensuring that Nigeria’s domestic fuel needs are met and even exceeded, effectively addressing any concerns about fuel supply shortages as the refinery continues to scale up operations.
