Saki was in a celebratory mood following Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval of the appointment of 45 Permanent Secretaries and 3 Executive Secretaries in Oyo State. The announcement, described as a record-breaking decision, was signed by the Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni MNI, and released by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade.

The appointments included several individuals from Saki, further boosting the town’s pride. Barrister Ajuwon Waheed Tijani, Dr Audu Ademola Hakeem, and Alhaji Mustapha Taiwo were named among the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, while Alhaji Sulaiman Folawiyo was appointed as Tutor General and Mr Adeyemo Olusegun Adebowale as Inspector General of Education . The list also featured Mr Rotimi Babalola, a veteran journalist from the Ministry of Information, as a permanent secretary, and Mr Oduola Adeola of the Local Government Service Commission also made the list of permanent secretaries.

Dr. Audu Hakeem, a prominent figure in the community and Patron of the Crescent Club of Saki, received special recognition. The club’s Chairman, Alhaji Khalid Ajibade, expressed his delight at the appointments, describing them as fitting and well-deserved. He praised Governor Makinde for his thoughtful selection, stating that the governor had “put the round peg in a round hole.”
