Labor leaders in Oyo State are urging swift action on implementing the newly approved national minimum wage to alleviate worker hardships.

Mr. Kayode Martins, Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), highlighted the urgency in an interview, emphasizing that delays could prolong the suffering of Nigerian workers. He called on state governors to follow the federal government’s lead and expedite the wage increase.

Similarly, Trade Union Congress (TUC) Chairman Mr. Bosun Olabiyi praised the federal government’s three-year wage review system but stressed the need for quick implementation. He also commended stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in achieving this milestone.
