In a swift response to a viral statement titled “Tinubu Speaks” and attributed to President Bola Tinubu, the Presidency has categorically denied the authenticity of the document.
Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, addressing inquiries on Saturday, dismissed the viral message as fake. “Based on recent inquiries, I wish to reiterate that this is fake and does not emanate from the Presidency,” Ngelale stated firmly.
The fabricated statement, widely shared on social media, purported to be a speech from President Tinubu addressing the nation’s economic challenges. It outlined a series of drastic measures, including a 50% salary cut for top government officials, the scrapping of the Office of the First Lady, and the restoration of fuel and electricity subsidies.

Additionally, the fake message claimed that the President was planning to reduce the number of his ministers, sell off presidential aircraft, and implement a ban on foreign medical trips for government officials.
