The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that married female prospective corps members posted to states where their husbands do not reside can request redeployment.
This was disclosed by the scheme in a statement posted on X.com on Monday, August 26, 2024. According to the NYSC, the directive applies to all married female prospective corps members in the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II.
The statement read, “All married female prospective corps members (PCMs) who have been deployed to states where their husbands are not domiciled should report to the nearest NYSC Orientation Camp for their deployment state to be changed.”
To facilitate the process, the affected PCMs are advised to present copies of their marital and other relevant documents as evidence during the registration period at the orientation camps. Once the redeployment is approved, the updated details will reflect on their dashboard for reprinting.

The NYSC, established on May 22, 1973, aims to promote national unity and integrate Nigerian youths through the scheme. Participation is mandatory for graduates below the age of 30, while those above 30 receive a Certificate of Exemption.
Successfully completing the service year earns corps members a Certificate of National Service, a crucial document for future employment and career opportunities.
