The authorities of Kajola Local Government Area, Oyo State, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akeem Olawale Mustapha Esq., organized a get-together and interactive session for corps members serving in the council area. The event, held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Staff Quarters, Lafihan, Okeho, was aimed at reinforcing the council’s commitment to supporting the NYSC scheme and fostering youth development in the society.

Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Mustapha reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to making the NYSC scheme more functional, efficient, and impactful in the council area. He emphasized his government’s resolve to create an enabling environment for youths to harness their creative and productive potentials as future leaders. The chairman also pledged continued moral, financial, and material support for the scheme while advocating for more corps members, especially in the medical field, to be posted to the area.

In his remarks, the Oyo State Coordinator of NYSC, Comrade (Chief) Odoba Abel Oche, commended Hon. Mustapha for his proactive leadership and unwavering support for the scheme. He described the chairman’s efforts as exemplary and urged other leaders to emulate his commitment to socio-cultural cohesion and youth empowerment. Comrade Oche also called for increased collaboration with corporate organizations and individuals to elevate the NYSC scheme further.
The Corps Liaison Officer (CLO) for Kajola Local Government, Adeleye Abdulfatai, expressed appreciation on behalf of the corps members. He lauded the local government management for providing an environment conducive to their service year, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to societal development.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman and Political Head of Iwa Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Dr.) Robert Charles Adeniji; members of the Legislative House; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Olaonipekun Samuel Segun; Chief of Staff, Hon. Tiamiyu Akeem Adewole; Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Afusat I. Abass; Supervisors; Directors; and Sectional Heads. Also in attendance were officials of the Oyo State Directorate of NYSC, including the Ibarapa Zonal Director, Mr. Bolaji; Protocol Officer, Mr. Abraham Adeyinke; Media Officer, Mr. Kola Oladele; and Local Government Inspector, Mr. Oguntola Olayinka, among others.
