Saki, Oyo State—The ancient city of Saki is in mourning following the death of Olórí Waliyat Olabisi, the second wife of the Okere of Saki, HRM Oba Dr. Surv Khalid Olabisi Oyedepo III Ilugbemidepo. She passed away this morning after a brief illness at the age of 40.
Olórí Waliyat was known for her forthrightness and exemplary life, which endeared her to many within and beyond the royal household. Stakeholders and residents of Saki have extolled her virtues, describing her as a woman of grace, humility, and dedication to her family and community.
Sympathizers have flocked to the palace to console the monarch and his family over the loss. The late queen will be laid to rest today in Saki according to Islamic rites.
Until her death, Olórí Waliyat was an officer in the Federal Ministry of Environment at the Ibadan Federal Secretariat. She was also pursuing her Ph.D., reflecting her commitment to education and professional excellence.
