The Great Club of Oke Ogun has once again demonstrated its commitment to community development by donating food items and cash gifts to the School of the Handicapped and the State Specialist Hospital in Saki.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Club, Alhaji Daud Aderogba, ANIPR, emphasized that supporting the less privileged is a key pillar of the club’s mission. He noted that this was not the first time the club had extended such gestures and assured that similar philanthropic activities would continue.

At the School of the Handicapped, the club donated essential food items, including a bag of rice, two cartons of spaghetti, a carton of three-in-one Milo, and six cartons of noodles. Alhaji Aderogba stated that the donation was aimed at supporting the nutritional needs of the students and easing the burden on the school administration.

The club also extended its goodwill to the State Specialist Hospital, recognizing the importance of healthcare in society. Alhaji Aderogba stressed that health and well-being are priorities for the club, hence the decision to provide direct support to patients. As part of the donation, cash gifts were presented to mothers of newborns admitted at the hospital, a gesture aimed at providing financial relief during the early stages of motherhood.

Receiving the donations, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Olawale K.O, and the Headteacher of the School of the Handicapped, Mrs Adegbola Elizabeth Aderonke, expressed deep appreciation to the club for its generosity. They acknowledged the significant impact of such contributions and prayed for the club’s continued growth. They also encouraged other social organizations in the community to follow the example set by the Great Club of Oke Ogun in supporting the underprivileged.

Several distinguished members of the club accompanied the chairman on the visit, including the Vice Chairman of Saki West Local Government and Political Head of Wewe LCDA, Hon. Abdul Rahman Tiamiyu Oyedokun; the club’s Vice Chairman, Mr Ajagbe Sunday; Secretary, Mr Tijani Idris; Welfare Officer, Mr Shittu Y.A; ESV Olatundun Joshua; ESV Abdulrasaq Abdulganiu Abidiesin; Mr Ojo Joel; Mr Saidu Balogun; and Mr Ganiyu Gbadamosi, among others.

The donation exercise reaffirms the Great Club of Oke Ogun’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, reinforcing its dedication to making a positive impact in Oke Ogun and beyond.
